Default Steering Wheel Size Revisited

Ok, it appears I've opened a can of worms. With much debate on the geometry of steering wheel size I've lost my answer.

I'm concerened about the "Feel."

Will a larger or smaller diameter steering whel "Feel" any better while wading through the dead spots in the steering?

i would think so, because for the same angle of rotation your hand would move less, so it would make the steering seem quicker.

BUT try to fit a different steering wheel to the car (MOMO, Sparco, etc.). you lose your airbag, steering wheel angle sensor (which in-turn you lose traction control/stability control), and your blinkers. i've tried already (search the forum for momo steering wheel).
