Down to the Wear Bars

My SRT roadster just turned 20k and it's time for some new tires. As of right now I believe I'll be using my current wheel/tire combo for my new found love of autocross (first time out this last weekend), then switching to the new set for all daily driving purposes. My biggest question is what type of tires are people having the best luck with when it comes to performance. Mileage is not a huge factor, however I don't want to buy a new set of tires every 10k. My last car was an SRT-4 and I loved the BFG g-forces, right now I'm leaning that direction. Thanks.

I replaced my PS2s with a set of Goodyear Eagle F1s. Great bang for the buck IMHO.

Check your autoX rules... some tires will reclass the car... Best way to work on your competition is to look at the rules, modify your car to fit inside those rules for your class...

I like Hoosier R6 tires, but they cost me +10 points for modifications... and DOT R tires will probably upclass your car...

Try the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup... It's decent tire for AUTOX without getting dinged for upclassing points... Providing you do some serious heating before your events...

Here's the tires I recommend for AutoX:
Hoosier A6
Hankook Ventus Z214 C70 compound

Good luck with your season...

Thanks for your guys' replies. I appreciate it very much. I'll definitely take a look at those Hoosiers and the Hankooks. I'll have to go and check how much I'll get dinged for this kind of rubber. Thanks once again.
