If you go to the crossfirefrank roll bar thread you will see my graphite gray roadster with red calipers.

Why paint your calipers? Do they make you stop faster?
Looks ugly to me, the red color doesn't match anything on the car, and unless they are a big grippy aftermarket caliper kit, I just have to say... WHY???

I left mine factory black... they already looked pretty good so I'll leave them be. If I have to redo them I have some black caliper paint for just such an occasion.

I did mine black as the car is black.
The only reason I painted them is they were looking rather tatty.

Norrie.

I am painting mine this summer also. I have a sapphire silver. And I'm debating between red or yellow.

Romio,

On your car, I think that either the body color or black would probably look better than red or yellow.

The Crossfire didn't come with red or yellow calipers, so unless you had a big brake upgrade, it's kind of a 'Wal Mart' upgrade if you know what I mean.

To really give your calipers a unique look and make them reflect the car's style you could do this... disassemble the calipers, and have the bodies HP coated or ceramic coated clear. Polished or not first this would give them a silver look you just can't get any other way and it wouldn't be chrome, so not too much shiny in there.

They are already the casted silver. Which is pretty close to my color now. I want it to stand out, not blend in. If they were black you wouldn't see them.

Red looks pretty good IMHO. It lets them stand out but not too much and could be mistaken for stock. Here's a pic of mine I did a while back. They still look good and it actually makes the calipers easier to clean since the dirt doesn't stick to the paint very well.

I tried earlier to get black folia tech lacquer kit for calipers and it was not available through the vendor. Anyone know where I can find this brand in black or can you recommend another lacquer type kit.

IMO what would look better is to keep the calipers stock color and do the Crossfire lettering in white on them. My Porsche has really nice 4 piston Brembos and across the caliper it says PORSCHE. It looks cool.
