Default 2,000 Mile Rotex Gold Follow Up

FYI, I have had my Rotex Gold pads on now for about 2000 miles. I detailed the wheels yesterday and after 150 miles of combined city and hiway driving, you can run your finger over the front wheels and get "some" dust. It's not bad and certainly not near as bad as the original equipment pads, but it's not zero dust as some have claimed. It's also a lighter grey dust and not nearly as noticeable. I'm not knocking Rotex and would install them again until a better option is available or a clear consensus of our forum members comes up with a better option.

I hope this is helpful

Same here, Chuck!
They're not perfect but a darn sight better than the OEM's!

Same here ( after 6K miles)

What do you think of the Rotex Pads performance?

The dust is the pad or rotor material wearing. If you have no dust it means you have no brakes!
Any pad that can stop well and not cake your wheel in black has achieved a good balance.

Sounds like Rotex Gold gets an A+ for its intended purpose.

Stops the car which is a good thing !
But no additional moans, groans, squeaks, wobbles, grinding, warbling, rubbing, growling noises than any other pad I've ever used. A+ indeed!

My Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads (Front+Rear) now have 5000 miles on them.
Like the Rotex pads, my wheel cleaning time has been cut down 90-95%.
Not zero dust, but damn close. I was cleaning my wheels almost daily with the OEMs. No squeeks, little dust, good stopping power = Happiness.

Peace
Paul

I don't notice any difference in performance but I don't push my Crossfire very hard either. My Crossfire has the best brakes of any car I've ever owned, original pads and Rotex.

Here's an article I've posted before that say's they might not be good for racing because of brake fad.

The DiscItalia titanium kevlar pads get an A+ also. VERY little dust on the front and almost nothing on the back. Performance is excellent, but I am using PowerDisc slotted rotors, SS brake lines and racing Blue brake fluid.

I am going to go with hawk performance brake pads like i have used in the past. www.buybrakes.com

are the rotex pads performance pads or just long life ceramic pads (last a long time, low dust but less stopping performance)

EBC Red Stuff - much less dust than OEM = though, not a little as Rotex probably - but better performance than OEMs and just by looking at the compound - should be better than Rotex.
