Yes, it is a lot of work to replace them as you are taking apart the suspension. the rears are much easier than the front. Put the car on jack stands and remove the rear wheels. Put a floor jack under the lower control arm near the up rights and remove three bolts, one for the upright, one for the sway bar and one for the shock, then slowy let the jack down and the spring will fall out. Replace the pad by puting the pad on the spring first so that is is seated right and make sure the spring is turned to properly seat in the lower control arm and slowly jack the control arm back up and re-install the three bolts.

This is some really good information!

If possible, can we get some picks showing were to place your two jacks?

Picks showing the before and after look of the bumpers shaved! so we can see how much to shave?

And some picks of the total process?

If someone has the pictures, they will be really appreciated!

I have had the rear suspension aprart a couple of times. Once to lower and then again last week to install the camber kit. Sorry but I didn't take any pictures. If you just start working on it, it will become obvious. Set the emergency brake and then jack like you are removing a wheel. Once the wheel is off you can put a jack stand under the frame somewhere safe and then reposition the jack so the it supports the lower control arm. I think I found a good jacking point just a little farther out than the rear spring. A floor jack works best and go up an down slowly. you are using the jack to remove the spring without a spring compressor. On the rear you are jacking the spring out and then back in. The fronts are a whole different nightmare. the rears are very easy.

That's a lot of very detailed information.
Thanks so much. I think that I am going to buy some H&R springs soon.

Cheers

One more question on this.
Is there one or two pads per side?
It looks like just one upper on the rear spring but would like confirmation
Thanks

1 pad on each spring. the bottoms have a slotted space on the lower control that you need to align the sring in the slot

So the following spring pads would fit our cars: Mercedes® Spring Pad

If so, they seem pretty inexpensive! Always a good thing.
