What is the widest size tire/wheel combo anyone is running?
What is the widest size tire/wheel combo anyone is running? Do you have a lowered suspension, if so any rubbing or clearance issues?
I was surfing through the CTD website this morning and saw this set-up.
These are WORK Varianza T1S wheels with MONSTER WIDE tires. Just wondering if these would fit.
Front 19 x 9 offset 30 - 225/35-19 tires
Rear 20 x 10.5 offset 30 - 295/25-20

245/40/18 on all corners for hard autocrossing and street. Tried lowering and got too much rubbing, scraping, and no real gain in cornering force, just weirder camber angles that are BAD. Now correcting the camber to -0.6 degrees!!!!!
BTW did I mention that I can rotate my tires for better wear????????????????

I just ordered 235/40/18 and 265/35/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cups for my Crossfire. I'll let you know what I think after the next track day.

Put Nitto Invos front and rear stock SRT6 rims. Kept the front size stock but went to a 285/30/19 on the rear. This "upsize" has kept the speedo/odo nearly the same as stock (less than 1 MPH difference at 60MPH)
Just don't follow the recommended 36 PSI, go 39-40PSI all around.

235/35/19 on 8.5 in front
295/30/20 on 10 in rear
Only rubbed once (minor) on a large dip on the inside top of rear. I feel this would not happen again since I have the camber issue adressed.
Not lowered.

225's would be ridiculous on 9 inch rims I am afraid. I had 225's on my 8.5's and they buldged out pretty bad so on a 9 inch would not be safe in my opinion.
As long as you have the right offset rear wheels(and the car's NOT lowered) you can stuff a 315mm wide rear tire without rubbing.
I have 295 30 19s on 9.5in rims. car is lowered and I have minor rubbing issues over deep dips. Also running 12mm spacers. Once the pirellis wear out I'll switch to Conti's and put on my 20mm spacers. This should solve the rubbing issues.
I e-mailed Tino Güttler, a great guy and owner of CTD in Germany and asked him about his WORK Varianza T1S wheel setup. Here's his reply and more info if anyone is interested in a setup like this.
WORK Varianza T1S wheels (custom offsets available)
Front 19 x 9 offset 30 - 225/35-19 tires
Rear 20 x 10.5 offset 30 - 295/25-20 tires

If your car is lowered, like on the picture, there is a lot of inner and
outer fender rolling work for this setup. the wheels come as a bolt on set
with a center hub ring. camber on the rear is approx. -2°. it depends on the
lowering rate. The wheels don’t come with spacers, they are not needed.
We recommend also the bodywork (fender rolling) even without lowering
The price in US$ is at the moment 5060 (3529,37 euro) plus shipping. (8-31-09) If you need this wheel set in other dimensions or
color it is no problem for us.
