Default Hankook V12 Evo review

I ran the new Hankooks at the Midamerican Motorplex outside Omaha for two days this weekend. The hankooks felt greasy and not as sticky as the Goodyear GSD's they were replacing. They appeared to have worn down to about half tread life in just the two day event. The OEM stocks and the Goodyears lasted for an entire season each.
They also developed a strange wear pattern. The 2nd rib in from the outside feathers down toward the outside rib. The outside rib itself is not worn. This occured on both sides. Any explanations?

I just put a set on my SRT 6. I hope I have better luck with them.

I wanted to post an update. I now have about 800 miles on the Hankooks. The 2nd rib in from the outside edge is now worn down to the carcass. The tires are shot. The remainder of the tire has good tread but have small chunks torn from them. These tires are way to soft and the track just tears them up. I have about 200 track miles and one low speed autocross on these tires. The wheels are aligned and balanced and the air pressure correct for the track. I will not buy these tires agian. The Firestone firehawk wide ovals lasted almost 2 seasons of track time.

I have these on my car, with mostly aggressive driving on them. About 5000miles so far, no problems at all... They aren't quite sticky enough for the track IMO, but I think they are great for DD use.

personal opinion of course.

I think the tires are probably fine for daily driving on roads. They ride smooth and have good grip wet and dry. The price is great. On the track is a different matter in my opinion. Too soft and the rib design causes irregular wear. Just my 2 cents worth!

I bought these for my SRT6 to replace the Contis. First impressions were they are not as strong in the turns, but seem quite and cost is right. They don't have the launch grip I was hoping for, but I didn't spend a fortune for the good stuff. I suppose they are on par with what I paid for them. I have had them for about 5,000 miles and tread life and wear seem fine so far, but will be taking them to the strip soon and will see what they hold up like.
