Default Got a BBK package from Needswings

Yesterday part of my BBK kit arrived and today the last box showed up. 2 of the boxes were in sad shape and one of the 2 almost lost a rotor. After careful investigation I can say that all parts are accounted for and no damage to the parts was done. The USPS has really gone down hill IMO. It's really scary how they crush boxes. I plan to update weights of the stock and Stopteck parts as I go. The Stopteck front rotors are 18 lbs. The rear factory size replacement rotors (Power shot vented and slotted) are 15 lbs. As I disassemble the stock brakes and instal the new parts I'll weigh them for posterity.

Very nice set-up......would you like to sell your stock front calipers and hardware? My Limited would really appreciate it

Not at this time. I'm holding on to all the stock parts just in case I decide to go back to stock one day. I'll be installing the BBK this week and bedding in the pads on the weekend. I'm real curious to find out how much the stock brake componets weigh.

Just for reference, I weighed my factory SRT front rotor and caliper.......

Caliper = 15 pounds 13oz
Rotor = 25 pounds 3oz

That is 29 pounds on each side..... and the C32 rotors are 15mm bigger.... But the C32 calipers are lighter than factory SRT ones..... I need some of those nice 2 piece RacingBrake rotors.......

(15 pounds 13 ounces) + (25 pounds 3 ounces) = (40 pounds 16 ounces) or 41 pounds each side.

sorry to hear about the boxes being squished, they were all new as they left here with about a mile of tape around them

everything was insured though so if there was any daamge we would have been covered.

so are you getting the zeitronix installed this weekend also?????

Zeitronix? Whats that? Before I get a tune the Zeitronix will be up and running. The Stoptech caliper with mounting brackets and bridge, bolts etc. comes in at 11 lbs.

I just got back from the track and the Eibach's are an appearance upgrade. While I managed to get close to my best time I was still 3 tenths slower. This is with the lower center of gravity with the Eibach's compared to the stock springs at stock ride height.

At the end of the day I gave some rides and it was so fun to see the permagrin spread amongst the crowd. I gave a ride to a racing acquaintance that has a supercharged miata and he was like, "the power is instant" "you hit the gas and OMG it goes like S$!t!" Really made my day because on this "handling track" he is 2 1/2 seconds faster than I am. I really need to find a way to get this car better in the curves. He said and I quote "I'll give you a ride in mine but it won't be nearly as fun" I left a lot of wavy black lines today showing off the power. Once again, the day I find the secret to get the SRT equal in the turns it'll be lights out for the rest. Anybody out there know how to get to the next level, handling wise?

The stock rear rotors came it at 15.5 lbs. So the powerslot rotors are a few tenths less.

I weighed my stock rotors and they came in at 26.1. I guess mine have less wear than Mike's. The stock caliper with pads came in at 19. I'll weigh them later without the pads since that's how I measured the stoptech's. But it looks like the stoptech's are 15lbs. lighter on each front wheel. Even if my scale is not as accurate as Mike's, were looking at 10lbs. to 15 lbs. That's got to be good!
