Default bored so i slammed the 32

i was really bored today and since im not driving my 32 until my wavetrac is in i decided to slam her instead.
let me say with the m/b spring compressor tool this can be done in less than 2 hrs without any help or fighting with the car. i have done this on 2 other xfires and mine at least 10 times so i have it down to a science.
opinions welcome enjoy the pics and yes its dirty!

btw im using # 4 pads in the front and #2 pads in the rear. front may have to be raised as that darn suspension bolt is so close to the tire i cant get my finger in there!! ill order some # 5 pads tommorrow and see if it helps

foto2 front oem and b&g springs

Looks real nice! I think I read that 3mm is all the clearance you need with that nut.

Let me know how you like the B&G's after they've been on a while. I'll eventually swap out my cut springs for something better, if I find something better.

well thats good to hear! jhm2k is on his way over so i can shine a light in on his and see if its that close. im 25 1/4" on all 4 corners and love the look. havent driven it cause i was worried the bolt would rip my inside tire apart. i cant get my hand inside the fenderwell to check!

as slammed as i can get!! i barely have the 3mm space in the front upper control arm bolt and i wont use spacers so thats as low as she goes! rear can only go 4mm lower without cutting the springs and the b&g springs are progressive wound so cant cut em either

I like the look but I would prefer a more even tire gap front the rear. Since you are as low as you can go the rear needs to be raised just a bit, IMO.
Still looks great though.

front measures the same as the rear. its prolly the angle i shot the pics. mrphotoman im not!! 25 1/4" all the way around. 5 mm different tire profile in the rear so that may be what your seeing.

^^^^ I think I agree.... I like the back but the front looks a little off at that height.... if you cant lower the front anymore, bring the back up a little..... try it with a jack and see what it looks like

Don't be so fast on the raising the rear! The pic is on and incline, so take a picture on the level.

not looking to raise the rear i like the way it sits. considering ...GASP!.... maybe 3 mm spacers on the front to get it away from the control arm bolt and go to a 3 dot pad. thats another 4mm drop

The gap is very very very close (between tire and nut).

Car looks perfect in person, and the arch-heights are exact on his leel garage slab. FWIW, when we measure mine on his driveway immediately after lowering, it appeared off as well.

After some settling and alignment, mine is as follows:

25-5/8 front, 26-3/8 Rear. Both sides are exactly the same.

I think he'll be good to go, he just has ZERO room to grow in the front. As long as the suspension moves WITH the tire, he's on the money.

something i need to ask everyone regarding the shocks. because i did this out of boredom and fully expect to need a fender roll i havent cut any of my bumpstops off the shocks. will this have an adverse affect? i have my koni's set at 1/2 of a full turn to firm from full soft. should i stiffen it more so i dont slam the bumpstops?
chances are i wont be driving much if at all for a while but if i dont write me a note ill forget!!

Steve, I'd cut the bumpstops in half.

Otherwise, the already harsh ride of the B&G srpings will murder your kidneys.

My bumpstops are trimmed, and even the speedbump-sized expansion joints on 840 don't jar me too much.

I had a shop install my Eibach's and they didn't cut the bump stops. I pulled the shocks after a couple of weeks and cut them myself. I saw no indication that they had bottomed out. None.
So while it is advised to cut them, unless you aim for the holes or drive like Batman, you don't have to run out and do them tomorrow. (They tell you to cut them for a reason, I'm sure, but I never hit bottom)

Racetracks are smoother than Tennessee roads.

MUCH smoother

You Tennessee guys ...... wait! I'm from Tennessee! Anyway, the roads in Puerto Rico can beat anything you've got and I drive over an hour to get to the track. (unless you still have those gravel ones) We don't have pot holes, we have sink holes. Even freshly repaired streets are like the lunar surface. Kinda like ...... Tennessee roads? I'll take my camera with me for the fun of it.

Haha we don't have very many potholes, we just have the worst bridge joints in history. The majority of the roads are among the best in the southeast.
