New shoes, finally...
After nearly a year and a half of research, debate, measuring, emailing, etc... the time has come and the purchase has been made.
I finally bought a new set of wheels.
I went with the Mandrus Wilhelm, in staggered fitments similar to OEM.

I finally bought a new set of wheels.
I went with the Mandrus Wilhelm, in staggered fitments similar to OEM.
Pros:
- Classy, ten-spoke design reminiscent of the RennTech Monolite
- Subtle lip depth, front and rear, gives only a slight hint of appearing afermarket... not a loud shout
- I wanted a compromise between the seven spokes of the limited, and the fifteen of the SRT
- I wanted the fitment to be as close as possible to OEM without using spacers
- Being the newest wheel from Mandrus, the design is fresh
- 1,950lb load rating
- Mercedes-specific application means I won't be seeing these on a Hyundai
- The shallow lip allows for more clearance for larger calipers, than comparable wheels with bigger lips with same offset... this will come into play for future mods

- Too-good-to-be-true pricing ($1,000 shipped)
- Weight is only a few pounds lighter than OEM... no massive weight savings. Not a recommended track wheel
really nice wheels John. again, my mentor for what you do on the white cross. You da man! I won't copy you though, that's your creation. LOL! Although I may steal your srt wing idea.
Just to make sure my old eyes see it right, those are the Silver/Chrome lip, and not the all Chrome Wilhelms.
Other than price, I was thinking about straight Chrome with a Mandrus.
But now I'm wondering, cause the Silver/Chrome looks very nice.
They look very kool on your car...
Assuming you purchased online, can you post the link...
Thanx...

Thanks for the compliments everyone!!
Front = 18x8.5 +32mm offset
Rear = 19x9.5 +25mm offset
In other words, nearly spot-on to factory specs. No spacers, no centering rings, it's as if these wheels were literally MADE for the car. They also included cone-seat bolts.
At first I didn't think there was a big weight savings, but after handling both the OEM and Mandrus I can definitely feel a difference. The tech at the tire shop had the same sentiments.
The wheels are silver, with brushed face, and a mirror polished lip.
Here's the link, email eric@wheelstudio.com and he'll take care of you.

Very very nice John. I see you got the girl all gussied up for her photoshoot! BTW, what size of the DWS's did you put on? At oleast I think they were DWS's.
They look great!
I had looked at the black Wilhelms not to far back but got an extra set of stock rims to powdercoat. Now I wish I hadn't.
Do you have your 285/30/19's on those wheels?
