Hankook Ventus V12 Tire Pressure Question
Just bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12 evo k110's for my N/A base coupe.
All 4 tires are rated at 50 PSI max.
Just curious as to what others with these tires are running.
I filled all 4 tires to ~43 PSI yesterday.
Should I let air out? Fill them to 45 or so? Doesn't matter?
Just wondering.
Thanks,
Eric Henderson

I run all four of my Hankook's at 36psi.
I have no handling issues, well except for traction problems with the rear tires...but that isn't the tires' fault.

Can you verify that higher tire pressure = better MPG/worse ride quality?
Or is that a myth?
Thanks for the reply,
Eric
Fill them to what the door sticker says, not the tire. The tire lists the Max.
I may go a few pounds over for tire and fuel mileage on regular sidewall tires. Adding a few more pounds in the Crossfire changes the ride a bunch and very harsh. I inflate the tires to what the door sticker says.

Is it wrong to have less pressure in the front tires than in the rear? Say... 36 PSI in front/40 in rear?
Is the door sticker only for stock tires? I'm at work right now and can't check
Thanks,
Eric
Personal preference, you are running way too much air pressure for me. 32 front and 33 rear for me and my car rides good. Your rear tires are larger than OEM, but still within reason.
I follow the door/jamb decal pressures unless you get to sizes that are extremely different than OEM.

I'll let some air out and experiment.
I would have thought 32-33 PSI was too little, but if it works for you then great!

Ride quality is what it is, I have had my SRT for over two years and have been in a crossfire for over three years...I'm just used to the bumps for the most part now.

No physical injuries or sore joints... no bad back or bad knees or squished @$$ fat (or whatever makes it hurt when you sit for a long time).. i'm not pregnant, I don't need one of those little donut things.
Ride quality doesn't much matter to me, just looking to get the most performance out of my tire without sacrificing too much of my MPG if I can save it.
I just filled my tires up yesterday from 36 PSI to 43 PSI and I felt like the ride was a little bit smoother over flat surfaces.
That being said, the roads I drive on to get to work are HORRIBLE. I probably wouldn't notice a difference in ride quality even if my tires were made out of rainbows and love.
Swapped out the steering stab last week, same time as I got the new tires and an alignment. I did notice a huge improvement from what I had before. (According to Sears who did my alignment, it was allllll messed up.) Also my poor Crossfire had some crap conti's on the front and two different rear tires. One was a michelin, the other a dunlop.
I just don't want to destroy my new tires too fast by over/under inflating, since they cost me close to a $1000.
Thanks,
Eric

If 50psi is the max, and you're running 43psi cold, you might be getting close to that 50 on a hot day or during spirited driving. You might wanna back it off a few psi to be on the safe side.

Tirerack has my rear tires for $205.00 per tire (pre tax/shipping).
I also bought the warranties through America's tire in case I hit something in the road, etc (I think it was $19 per front tire and $34 per rear).
At least then I won't be @$$ out $235 or whatever.
I wanted to do a little more shopping around, but before I could I got a flat.
$963.33 was the total after tax/shipping costs/warranties.
And thanks for reminding me about the rebate! I have to fill that out still.
Regards,
Eric

Be careful jacking the tire pressure up. When you fill the tires it pulls the steel belts tighter and can make them wear in an odd pattern. I would think 32-36 psi would be a good profile for the tires. You will need to watch the wear pattern, vibration, gas mileage, etc. Let us know how it goes.

stick with the recommended pressures written on the door jam. Those are the pressures that I run off track. Vince
