Default Hancook Veritus Tires?

OK I have no idea if I spelled it correctly. Scold me if you must.

Last week I put a new General Exclaim on the Passenger rear of my roadster. All because of a nail ithe sidewall.
Upon inspection, I noticed the existing tires were at 3/32 so, with my TC going off all day, I decided to order the matching driver's side Exclaim.
OOPS!
Nationaly out of stock and they are making no more. The tire guys could have told me that last week before I put $300 bucks into a new tire.

Anyway, He is suggesting the Hanook as an alternative saying is is virtually the same tire.

FOS or is that valid?

Secondly is the Hanook a decent tire?

I am a skinflint about everything but Brakes and tires. Going to theDragon this fall, I don't want a ribbing because I wore two different style shoes to the party.

Comments please?

Franc,

I, as well as many others speak very positive about Hankook tires. I have had Hankook Ventus V12s on all fours for a couple years now and have nothing but good things to say about them. Definitely a good bang for the buck tire.

No offense to anyone else, but given the source of this advice, that is verificatin enough.

I really liked the Excalims. They stuck like glue even at 3/32 tread .

Prices for the Hankook tires re comparable so the baby gets two new shoes until I rub the shoulders ofte front ones. What are the odds of that?

No bad tires at all, just stay away from the Falkens for our size. They try to integrate (a weather control??) line in their tires that is so wide and deep that if you are driving on an elevated line or difference in the concrete, the car will actually stay on the line and you will basically have to slightly *jut* your car off the line, which at 70mph on a dallas highway isnt ideal.

I've heard good things about the Hankooks. I currently have Exclaims on mine and the fronts are nearly gone. I picked up a pair of Eagle F1 Asymmetric's for only $91 a piece, due to a closeout at Tirerack. What a price! I'll be putting them on this weekend.

I've had both. My coupe came with new Exclaims, and I recently changed to the Hankooks and can say I honestly like the Ventus V12's Better. I find they don't break loose in wet as easy as the Exclaims did, and generally found the grip better with the V12's.

I liked the Exclaims and was skeptical when I first got them, but was overall very impressed with the tire and grip, and wet traction. Then when I got the Hankooks was even more impressed with the grip around corners especially on hot days these things stick like glue!

I'd give the Hankooks the edge, but the General's we are close second.

The last set I purchased for my SRT6 are the V112s and I love them so far. Unless I warm them up a bit, straight line take off is a bit slippy, but the cornering in wet and dry is fabulous.

They also run quiet and soft so the ride feels better too.

Well, it is no longer a contest betweenthe HanKooks and the Exclaims. Despite being a very popular tire, the Exclaims are to be discontinued.

Last word I got was they are making no more.

I need a driver's rear if anyone knows where one is available.

I think that was a compliment...even if it wasn't, I'll assume it was.

I'll keep an eye out for any good deals I hear of on the V12s.

I've been running Hankooks on all fours for over a year. They grip well during the summer, then spin and slide all over the dry road during cold weather. Squirrel Crusher

I owe you one MimiSRT6

It has to ship from the distributor somewhere to the store in California and then to me to hand to my tire guy. But will still cost me less than the one I just bought from him

I will get it in time for the Dragon Meet.

They only had three available. Now just two

Next set will be Hankooks. They go on Crumpy's SRT

Thanks to all for the assistance.

franc

BTW Zahanma it was a compliment.

My crappy Goodyear F1 AS tires are finally shot on the coupe. I was going to get the Conti DWS, but the back tires are on perpetual back order. Based on the reviews that I have seen about the Hankooks, I have these on order. I have heard that they are quiet as well. Maybe now my coupe will now have less road noise than the roadster (F1 AS tires sound like truck tires).

I have the Hankooks on the roadster & it is SOOOOO much quieter than the SRT coupe. It also totally changed the way I drove the Dragon. The tires feel like glue on the road and allowed for much more spirited driving.

They are a great choice for the money but you won't confuse them with Advans AD07, AD08, Michelin Pilot PS2, Super Sport, etc. They have a longer tread life than these tires but no where near the grip.

I have been running them on all 4 corners for close to a year now and they are holding up well. That being said I don't know that I would go back with them - I miss the extra grip.
