Softer ride in an SRT?
I want to get a softer ride in my car. I could put in the NA suspension I guess, but how about a bit softer than that by adjustment? Sacrilege I know.
Maybe NA springs and adjustable shocks?
I would keep the stock parts (no trades) and tire sizes.
What are my options? My wife hates it and my back would thank me I'm sure. The roads around here are often like washboards, highways are fine. I am not into racing up and down the Dragon, I went through the Dragon twice, into and out of Fontana Lodge.

Here's a hint Dave, the solution to your problem is noted in my signature (yellow font)

If I was going to soften the ride of my SRT-6 I'd start with adjustable shocks. Next, I'd do some research on tires with soft side walls. You'll run a higher risk of bending a rim but the ride would be much more compliant. I don't know how a N/A Crossfire rides so I'll defer to others on the results of going to their springs and shocks.

If you want a tire with a softer sidewall, Nitto Invo is a good candidate.
Also, the Continental DWS is a very compliant tire, with good grip and all-weather capability. Might be perfect for Canada. And it's cheap(ish).

So NA springs and Konis is my answer?

Thanks Max, I'll keep this in mind and let you know.
Every post I read people seem to want harsher rides, and there is no comparison to what they got. I know sweet F all about the suspension, spring rates, various shocks, combinations etc. The harshest I want is the NA and a chance maybe to soften that for the wife and maybe my back.

My back isn't the best either so I can understand the need. My car rides like a tank until I hit the track then it rides like a chariot of the Gods.

Have you ever noticed those chariots??? They have nothing for a spring, the platform is mounted right on the axle!
Certainly equal to the NA, but I don't think softer. I have a herniated disc and found the SRT6 ride intolerable on the northern roads. It was OK in Florida, the roads are like glass, but I couldn't drive the car for very long when I got it home. With the koni's on full soft, the ride is much improved. Just my experience...............
softer spring rate, and shocks to match. You aren't weren't about handling, so that should be what you are looking for. You could add some padding to the seats if there is a good upholstery shop in your area...
If your head's not really close to the headliner,You may find that a blow up hemorrhoid cushion may serve your purpose as well as being economical. I personally haven't tried this method. Good Luck

I have N/A springs laying around. I might even do an install for you if you want!
My part selection is not like some of the other locals but, there is stuff still kicking around I wont use
Ohh and if you were looking for N/A sway bars also I have the set but they would have to be a "swap" No spares of them.

How much $ and work is involved with installing adjustable KONI'S?
Also, what does it take to adjust from hardest position to softest?
Is permanent acccess required to the top of the shock tower at all four corners.... ie do you need to cut an opening into your rear trim panels?

you have to cut an opening for the rear adjustments. But, for 180, I don't think he would want to go to that trouble...I would just swap out the srt springs for N/A's. Any N/A takers want a firmer ride? Sounds like Beaner is willing to help out.
