Talking SLK 320 R170 springs on Crossfire?

Hi There,

I was looking for some lowering springs for my Crossfire, i've read somewhere that the springs of a SLK 320 R170 fits. Does anyone know if this is right? See this set:

Mercedes SLK Weitec Verlagingsveren - 28225010 | Stroevemotorsport.nl

Thanks for your help.

35 mm front and back sounds about right. Is there any way you can telephone them and ask?

They must be. If you buy Eibach lowering springs, they are the same for both cars.

physically the springs are the same. the actual spring rates may be different form the slk to the crossfire

Okay thanks for your answers. The problem is, I want to lower the Crossfire 35 of 40mm. 30mm is to less, but i don't want to spend to much money to buy a adjustable set. I've called the owner of the shop, but he didn't know for sure of the set will fit.

So i must need to know it for 100% of it wil fit, than I can order the set next week.

I bought H&R springs for my 2005 SRT6 Convert and had them installed by an independent Mercedes mechanic. You can find them on eBay. They lower 1" (25mm) and look good. I paid less than $160 for the set about 6 months ago. They charged me about $450 to install them because the front end had to be re-aligned and they had to replace some alignment bolts. I'll post some pix.

you talking 1.5" drop which is pretty severe. rear camber will be way out so camber bars are needed. also miker sway bar links to readjust the sway bar will be a good idea. for the front no way eccentric bolts pick up the camber so a kmac or similar kits will be needed for the front. if the camber isnt addressed with that severe a drop tires wont last long at all

yes the springs will absolutley fit . bump stops on the shocks will need to be cut also

~ those are the springs i had i my crossfire... here is what you can expect:

i never made any additional suspension mods after my alignment... yes the rear has negative camber but my tires lasted 25k or so with the lowering springs and koni shocks i later added.

hope this helps.

(they lowered the car approximately 2" ... as seen in pics below) ...

That's a 5 year old post, you might not get an answer!
