Hi all!

I'm new to the site, but I'm VERY familiar with forums. So right away, IM SORRY for posting without doing a lot of searching. My friend has a Crossfire (I don't know what year or model at the moment), and she's looking for winter rims/tires. According to her mechanic tires on her rims are going to be roughly $1500, and there is no other option. She was told that because of the staggered rims she's not "allowed" to do anything different.

I'm sure everyone is familiar with the sizes, but here are hers anyways:

front: 225/40/18
rear: 255/35/19

What do other people run (sizes) for winter? Would it be okay to run identical sizes on all four corners for the winter?

I have owned many different sets of snow/ice tires. Bridgestone, Dunlop, Hankook, Michelin...

The best BY FAR have been the Bridgestone Blizzaks. They are absolutely amazing on packed snow and/or ice. I have had several different sets of Blizzaks actually, "SUV", "regular", and "performance winter". Buy the type that fits your weather, vehicle, and driving style. But they have all been good.

For $1500 she should be able to get winter tires AND rims.
