Default Nitto INVO users... feedback needed!!!

As title states... I'm considering these up against the Michelin PSS and the Continental DW.

Anything you like about the tire? Anything you hate? Grip? Noise?

Sway me.

I have the following installed on stock NA rims.
245/40/18 front Nitto Invo
305/30/19 rear nitto Invo
These are by far the best tires I have run. I had the PS2's, F1's and Pirelli's and none run as quite and stick better. I would highly recommend the Invo's they are really good tires for these cars. I don't drive carefully or putz around so needed some sticky tires and these fit the bill. Have 7200 + miles so far and am happy with them. Only issue is if it's colder than 65F outside they tend to break loose but above that temp hold real well.

305's on a 9" rim, any chance I can get you to post up some photos of that? I'd like to install 305's on my 9 1/2" wheels, but I keep reading they won't fit properly.

Not the best pic but you get the idea. I had pirelli's and now run the Nitto's both 305/30/19

My guy at the tire shop has the long over head arm that swings around to mount and dismount the tire from the rim and all his equip has teflon over the metal parts that contact the rims so no damage.

^^^ Those are some fat girls!!!

I won't be going any larger than 285... I want to retain some sidewall rigidity for the corners.

Do they launch well (for a street tire)?

Wow, those are wide as hell. So Robert, don't you have the SRT6 engine in that Crossfire?

Grip, you are right, that 305 on stock rims is a disaster waiting to happen. Ask Tire Rack, I guarentee you that they would not recommend that fitment!!!! If you look at the spec sheet at TR for any given tire, the best wheel fitment would be the exact rim width and they have a range of widths that would be acceptable. 305s need something wider than stock. DON'T DO IT!

I think they launch very well and have had no issue with the weat on the pirelli's I just went through or these Nitto's. And they are good for grip off the line like no other streeet tire I have used. Yes Anthony the NA in the pic has the swap of the complete running gear from the SRT6. Along with some mods. I hope to get her into the high 11's or at least low 12's here at 5800' which would be aprox a sec faster at close to sea level given the denser air.

The same tire rack that said 35x12.50 15's would not fit on my Jeep and that they do NOT recommend I install them on an 8" wide rim?

Looks good Robert. I am happy with the 285's on the back of my roadster, but am glad to hear I can go fatter if I want/can afford to!

I am not liking my ventus v12's, they are always slippery, even hot, not predictable. Subscribed.

For all you guys who have seen extreme tire sizes on stock rims, here's another suggestion; remove your brake pads, it'll save some weight! While you may have seen this at tracks and yes some get away with it, unfortunately I have had the privilege of sending some of these guys to the morgue and a few "lucky" ones just became quadriplegics, sucking their nourishment through a straw. Mfs. give these recommendations for a reason, why not just get the proper size wheel and be safe. Even if you live through it how much do you think your insurance co. will pay you after the investigation? While there are some really smart guys on this forum, there are always the ????????s.

That's the whole reason I've stayed away from those. The Hankooks get excellent reviews, and considering they're one of the cheapest tires we can put on, I suppose any performance is good performance. But based on all the reviews I've heard (personal reviews, not anonymous TireRack reviews) they're definitely a compromised tire. Many on there use them, BUT the ones that like the tire the most happen to drive the n/a Crossfire... less demanding from a traction standpoint. Nick (Thirteendog) put them on his SLK55 and hated them. They were quiet, but as you mentioned, they're greasy once hot and have fairly numb sidewall communication.

I really want to try the Michelin PSS, but I can get a set of INVOs with wider tires (the PSS isn't available in 285/30) for $300 less for the set. While I'm sure the PSS has marginally better grip, I'm not sure it's $300 better. Multiplied over the life of the vehicle every 10,000 miles, that's a chunk.

Any canyon-carvers using this tire? How's the lateral response?

I'd have to agree that there is a "safe" range for tires that shouldn't be exceeded. Granted, TireRack lists their specified ranges as a CYA to prevent lawsuits over said accidents, and I can't blame them. So I wouldn't feel uncomfortable running a tire on a wheel that is 1" narrower than the recommended rim width, but anything more than that would give me some pause. I know when I put 285/30 Continentals on the 9" Limited wheel, I felt an IMMEDIATE decrease in lateral stability, even though straight-line traction increased. When those tires wore out, I went down to a 275/35 and the problem was fixed -- the stability was back where it needed to be. I still had ample straight-line traction but that was mainly attributed to the lack of horsepower.

I cringe just as much when I see the kids running around with the "stance" look with the stretched tires. The bead of the tire is engineered to seal against the wheel's lip... not to be extended to the wheel's lip. And then they wonder why they have bent rims...

The V12s for the money are great but after putting miles on them I am less and less impressed. I just got new fronts before the fall dragon last year so ill be wearing those down but on the look out for rears. The v12s are not wearing well and road noise has gone way up. Also for Daily duty the wet performance is not great. Fine on wet roads but puddle = hydro big time.

Eyeballing the pilot super sports. Not as hard on the wallet as the ps2s and every review seems to be great. For daily driving road noise is huge for me so ill sacrifice some for lowest noise. Options at 285 35 19 are slim compared to 275 though, I may end up going 275.
