Hope you and Josh can make it happen... AND maybe you can convince him to lower your car for you while he has it.. that way you can count that $1200 quote as a "discount" on the swap/shipping
Thanks for the link. I tried a similar site the other day and didn't get a low enough quote. I just requested some quotes from this site now.

Right now it looks like we have worked something out. I am just finalizing shipping and working out the last few details with Josh. As long as everything goes fine there will be a new v8 crossfire not to far from now!

As for lowering, I am not going to go through that company. After looking at the suggestions on this thread plus the links, I feel I can do it right this time around. It was more a lack of tools than ability. I have done suspension work and a v6 to v8 swap on a 85 Firebird when I was in high school. Lowering will probably be pushed out until after I get the car back now.

The time frame we're working with may not allow me lowering it.

Haven't been on here in a hot minute. Did you still need help lowering your car? I've in Northern VA and I know a thing or two about lowering Crossfires

Also if you need a Benz spring compressor I can get you one. I'm close friends with the guys over at Blockstar in Springfield and I have used their spring compressor on multiple occasions.

Your car looks awesome! Is that painted or is it dipped?

I would defiantly appreciate help with lowering the car, especially if I got to see your car in person! I spoke with Josh and it makes sense to wait until I get the car back in since the stance will change with the new engine. If you are still willing to help towards the end of July or early August that would be awesome.

It's dipped. And yeah that's fine. I'm in Haymarket right off 66 so I shouldn't be too far from you. My roomate is actually a technician for Mercedes Benz of Chantilly so with his help it didn't take us long at all to do my coilovers. In fact, we have technically installed them twice in the last few months since I ended up uninstalling them after a few months to remove the locking rings/collars for moooaaarrr low and then reinstalled them.

On an unrelated note, judging by your username I suspect that you're an Avenged Sevefold fan.....yes? If so we should get along just fine as Avenged Sevenfold has always been and will always be my favorite band. I still listen to them on a daily basis. I've seen them live more times than I can count, most recently in Baltimore this past November.

I've been wanting to dip my car flat black, but I wasn't sure if I would like it. I dipped my wheels and it came out pretty good but I am not sure how well it would come out on my car. Thats only about 30 minutes from my apartment I think, not too bad. That would be great if you and your roommate were willing to help. I can supply the beer!! I will let you know when the car gets back and see if we can work something out. It would also be interesting to see how the v8 and the SRT compare to each other. I've never seen what either can do in person. This would of course be done on a legal race track

Yes I am! I've been using that username or some form of it for years, and I am pretty sure you are the first to ever get it lol. I have always wanted to see them live but I haven't gone still . Maybe once my wallet recovers from this swap lol

Haha my car is basically stock motor-wise outside of an intake, an ECU/TCU tune and an axle-back. I am planning to upgrade the pulley/heat exchanger someday but it's pretty low on my list of priorities.

And it's good to see a fellow A7X fan on the boards! They are one of the few bands out there that legitimately sound better live than they do on CD/MP3.
