Mounted the blizzaks today on a repainted set of 18"s. Hope it all works. The pilots suck in the cold. Traction control comes on even in the dry when temp is below 35f with a normal launch from a light.

No they don't. They are the LM22s. Agree about the 19s in the rear for the looks but narrower tires work better in the snow and slush. It was a practicle rather than cosmetic decision based on experience with a 911 I had and the advice of a pal up in Toronto (they should know up there). No use having 19s and then driving into a ditch. Next winter I might try some spacers and a 225/45/18 to fill in the space a little more.

I like they way this car drives in the rain, now I can't wait for some snow.

Did you have the summer performance tires or the factory all season tires when you bought the car? We are looking at buying a 2004 six speed with the all season tires and would like to know if it would be OK in the snow.

From other posts the Contis don't work well in the snow. The Bridgestone's worked well.

I used Blizzaks on my Mustang GT and they dug in really well. I'll hopefully be able to afford a set of wheels and tires for the Crossfire by this winter.

I plan on staying home if it snows... Ah the price we pay for our toys.

I am now looking for four 18" rims and snows for my Crossfire.
In talking with Tire Rack on the phone, I have narrowed the search down to the inexpensive ASA ST3 Bright Silver Painted wheels in 18x8 and four Blizzak LM-25 snow tires in 225/40 VR 18.

They will probably go on the car around late November and come off in early April.

I will run these without the low tire sensors on.

Question Re: Blizzaks on for the Winter (photo)

Not that I'm driving my Crossfire in the winter or anything, but when you say the "pilots sucked in the snow" are you referring to the stock Pilots that come on the car or Michelin "Pilot" Alpins?

I have (2) 18 inch factory rims with minor curb rash. I bought these before I traded my crossfire ltd for the SRT-6.

You can have them for $150 each plus freight.

I have a 17 inch winter wheel setup, with blizzaks. The setup may be for sale soon, as I might have actually found someone to buy my crossfire.
