Handbrake warning

Question Handbrake warning

Hi can anyone help? I have a 2005 coupe and the hand brake light and warning beep is constantly on when the hand brake is off !!!. I have put an obd reader on it it reveals no errors.any ideas ?;

I think the switch adjustment, or a bad switch.

from the manual :
The parking brake switch is in circuit with the red warning lamp in the dash. The switch will cause the lamp to
illuminate only when the parking brakes are applied. If the lamp remains on after parking brake release, the switch
or wires are faulty.

Not at all. You essentially have to remove the center console.

Remove the center console and check to make sure the switch is actually in place. I accidentally knocked my switch out of position one day when reinstalling my console. It took all of 10 minutes to undo and find the problem.
