Tires that won't break the bank
Tires that won't break the bank
HI everyone!
I am looking to see what the verdict is these days on alternatives to the Michelin Pilot Sports I used to have years ago. Tires that won't break the bank.
My research on the forum led me to buy the General G-max AS-05 (formerly 0-3). Still have a set of fairly new ones in the front but the rear need directions replacement. Now, I'm thinking about getting the same again for the two worn rear tires or perhaps going with something different. Obviously I know mixing and matching isn't ideal but even if I went with generals again this time around, what has been the verdict on cheaper tires recently. I'm not talking crappie tires for the cheapest price. I'm looking for decent models at a reszpectable price.
thanks for all your info and help!
Happy weekend!
Nick

Re: Tires that won't break the bank
Need to know what kind of tire you want, summer only, all season, tread wear, handling etc.
I have Yokohama on front (made in usa) and michelin pilot sport a/s plus 285/35r19 on rear, found on clearance so I bought 2 extras
But these can NOT be mounted on factory rims, they are to narrow for runflats.
But perfect on my 19x11's.
And I need all seasons, I got caught up in a winter storm that came a day early acouple months ago from nashville tn to southern IL and matched with my 6 speed they did great.
