I have never bought tires from Wal-Mart before..... but can get all 4 new tires for $277 tax and shipping included.
I was quoted over $1200 for tires from my local Les-Schwab tire center..... which we have been with for 20 years now. I am getting really tired of paying super inflated prices with them though. Even after being a loyal customer for 20 years, they still found it in their hearts to charge me $60 to re-balance the tires on the gray XF.
Does anyone have any experience with Wal-Mart tires.... more specifically the Achilles ATR Sport II tires? Wal-Mart lists them as a "summer" tire, but Achilles website and other online sellers list them as an "all season" tire.
277 for all for, jeez
cheaper than the atlas tires, and those are cheap and look good tread and ratings
may be a all season compound but looks like a summer tread
Not many biting edges for a all season tread.
I remain suspicious of cheap tyres, tyres for my wheelbarrow cost more. 😉
Ay what point would a person stop calling something cheap and instead call it affordable?
Nowadays, I use the word cheap to denote something of poor quality. I certainly can't speak for the "cheapness" of these tires because I haven't purchased them yet.
I think tire prices are grossly inflated.... most of them are coming out of China nowadays anyways. Do I spend $1200 for the Toyo Tires, or $300 for the Achilles Tires that were manufactured a block away?
I'm going to throw myself on this grenade and will give my own honest review. Tire noise is one of my biggest complaints since I commute with my cars.
They are not really the correct size for our cars. They could probably be mounted however the ride and handling would probably be affected and I would be cautious with speed. Just my two cents.

The Achilles is just a cheap option IMO. Actually, the best budget tire I ever seen is the Cosmo Muchomacho. I used to have a lot of issues spinning tires on my SRT6 until I bought a set of these magnificent tires. They are cheap at around $75 each, excellent grip and nice design all season tire. Just look at the reviews on YouTube and judge yourself.
The local VW dealer has a set of these tires (different size) mounted on upgraded rims on display on their dealership floor. Actually a good looking tire. Even some of these dealers are starting to look at different tire brands other than the old standards to keep the costs down. There are quite a few tires out there that are more affordable & still give acceptable performance.
