What is your most trusted place to get tires? I feel like I have made bad experiences with the big ones "Tires Plus", "Tire Kingdom" etc. But then again it might just be the ones close to me or one off scenarios. Some other locations get great reviews.
But then I also read of services where they come to your home and install in your parking lot? Anyone ever use something like that? I am thinking about going back to General G-Max tires. Made great experience with those in the past and the "big box" stores always have a hard time ordering those. It's a hassle!
The SRT6 I purchased two years ago is getting read for a rear tire replacement. The fronts are still in real good shape but rears always wear faster. I have sometimes just replaced the rears but usually do all 4 but since the fronts are still in great shape I am considering a rear replacement only.
My guess is, the rear tires on the NA wore out a little slower than the SRT and therefore when the rears were bad, the fronts were not too far behind despite it being a RWD vehicle.
Anyways, who do you go with and what tires do you use?

I just got these at Discount Tire last week - Put a nearly 1000 miles on them cruising around at our Ozarks event last week
Had the Continental Extreme Contact Sport Summer tire before these
They were very good tires and gave me 28,000 miles of even wear too
Got these all season Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 for a longer warranty and a $110 rebate
I think these are equally as good as the set they replaced !!
Look at the machine the tire store uses to change your tires. If you do not care about scratches and digs into the inside of your rims it isn't important, but especially for those with after market chrome rims investigate the machine being used to change your tires! There are basically two types out there; One grabs the inside of the rim and holds it in place with jaw like pressure. The other will run a spindle up through the center of the hub and clamp the rim in place with no fingers on the rim. That method prevents damage to the inside of the rim. Those machines will have an arm come down and break the bead as the tire turns with the spindle. The center spindle machines will not use a lever to get under the tire and spin the lever, vice the rim, to break the bead and thus no scratches from a lever running on your rim.
The tire changing machine that does little to no damage to the rim is called a "touchless" center post or leverless. Hunter calls their models "Walkaway".
If some one comes to your house or business to change a tire on the spot, I feel certain you will have some kind of rim damage via scratches, scrapes or gouges.
There is only one store near me that has the center post, touchless tire exchange tool. Many tire stores did not even know what I was asking about. ( I checked in three counties) The newer machines are expensive, but it is the only way I will have my tires changed on the SRT6 with chrome wheels.
So it is not just the tires, but who is installing them.
I put Barum 3HM Tires in OEM spec sizes on my Coupe several years back. Barum Tires is owned by Continental and came at a very good price point. Bought these from Discount Tire (which is my preferred installer) - they listed the tire on their Discount Tire Direct website. Great performing tire - IMHO! Barum shows the tire as a 5HM version now - some sort of upgrade with the tire design. Discount Tire may be able to still get these tires, but might be worth looking around at various discount tire websites.

DITTO THIS FEEDBACK! I also look for those that use a plastic lever arm to install the tire on the rim if they are using center-hold jaw machines. If not a plastic lever arm, those that know to wrap the end of the metal lever arm with electrical or Duck tape to avoid damage to the rim.
Years back, my oldest son had a 1999 Ford ZX2. I bought him after-market rims & wider tires for the car. The local tire shop I used (which came recommended by the online tire store) severely gouged one of the new rims when the tire tech was mounting the tire. The manager tried to tell me that the rim was damaged when they opened the box. Turned out I had taken pictures of all the rims beforehand at my house. When I showed them to the Manager, he got 'red-faced' embarrassed because I caught them in a lie & apologized his *** off. I told him I thought he was crooked & was prepared to call the cops to have him booked for attempted fraud & anything else I could come up with. The only way to not have the cops involved was the following:
1) I told him he was going to replace the rim with like-kind (gave him the eBay Seller I bought the rims from)
2) Told him if he could not get the exact same rim, he would order another full set of my choosing at or near the same price point.
3) I wasn't paying him for any installation charges because he ran a crooked tire service shop.
4) And I would never be back & wouldn't recommend him to anyone. (Note: He's not in business anymore in my city - closed up shop probably 2-3 years ago.)
I can be a 'rectal orifice' when I need to be!

I've had Cooper tires on previous vehicles and I've always liked them.
I'm going to use the same place that refurbished my wheels to mount & balance my new tires. The tires are the same size. They just look weird because of the shipping straps.
I put Barum 3HM tires on my car when I got it 6 years ago. I've been happy with them, but they are the only tires I've put on this car so I don't have anything to compare them to. They ride well, were not expensive and seem to be holding up and wearing well. Can't expect more than that.

Your best bet is to find a safe tire mounting place, is one that sells high dollar wheels or a place that refurbishes wheels. They don't want to ruin wheels they just sold or just refurbished.

I've driven in the rain with them and they handled well. They seem to be quiet and do well overall.
I also like the fact that they're made in the U.S. and they're less expensive than most of the other well known brands.
I've had them up to 95mph with no trouble. I don't drive as crazy as I used to, but I think they're good tires.

These are exactly the tires I just got installed. My local tire shop recommended them.
For the rear i buy Kumho ps91 275-35/19, they have a tire wear of 240. They are what i set the street tire, no posi. unit
record with. 12.008@ 114, My 60' was 1.59. These tires stick like glue, very few srt-6's can spin them.
For the front i get Kumho but this time the tread wear is in the 500's for long wear.
