Maybe this does not apply to you but those carpets get pretty dirty after a while as mine were when I got the car, they just did not look black enough with all the dust on them. So I got a little liquid soap and washed them in the laundry sink, it was amazing the amount of dirt and grit that came out of them, I hung them by one edge and let them drain and dry, within a few hours they were dry and looked as good as new except for the stretching where your heel goes by the accelerator.
