Need front license plate mount / prefer a new one
Hello all, Looking for a Crossfire front license plate mount. Prefer a new one please. It's for my brother Jim in Texas who recently bought a second Crossfire . . . an Alabaster roadster that came from Florida. Texas STILL requires a front license plate. Anyone still have a new Crossfire front license plate mount laying around that they're willing to part with?? Please e-mail me at RedDogNumber1@aol.com. THANKS, Bob Davis

Thanks for that response. My brother told me he had ordered that part from three different sources only to have his payment returned telling him that the part was discontinued and no longer available for purchase. Not sure if he tried the source you found. I've bought some "hard to find" parts from them before. I sent my brother the link. THANKS . . .

Re: Need front license plate mount / prefer a new one
I don't like the front plate it sucks but Illinois requires one so I cut down the front plate and bracket from 5 3/4" to 4 1/2" . I wish I had cut it down to 3 1/4" so just the numbers show. They won't bother you as long as they can read the numbers. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cro...6756f270be.jpg |

Got mine from Rockauto couple years ago, but just checked, they are out of stock!
It was the OEM Chrysler part and their price was very good but I guess just another part going scarce. Good luck. |

Re: Need front license plate mount / prefer a new one
I have the front license plate holder, but haven't installed it yet: I don't want to drill holes in the front of my roadster, so I'm using the "honor system".
I live in Texas, and they don't check for a front license when you get your annual inspection. I keep the unused license holder handy, in the original Chrysler box, and when I was stopped a few months ago for another reason, I explained that I had recently learned that a front license plate was required, I ordered the holder from Chrysler, and it arrived yesterday, "...and I guess that's just a day too late". The trooper accepted my story, and I ended up with two warnings - no court appearance required. If I can avoid that trooper for a bit longer, he will (hopefully) forget the incident - and if not, I'll resort to "plan B". |
Re: Need front license plate mount / prefer a new one
Maybe I can help. I brought an 05 roadster home in the spring with an undrilled front bumper. It was a southern car which did not require a front plate. The original chrysler part was in the trunk. In Ontario we require front plates but I didn't want to drill holes either. Researched the forum and found a method using Frog Feet suction cups. I was leary about it . Ordered some from amazon. They are a little tricky to work and install. Our plate has been on the car for a couple thousand miles, using this method, daily grocery getter, since the first of June and I will remove it in the fall and buff/wax the front. Works as promoted.

Yes, we are familiar with the Frogsfeet suction cups. My brother mounted the front plate on his Aero Blue SRT6 roadster using those. I'm sure he will use them to mount the front plate on his newly purchased Alabaster roadster too.
Look here: Look here for the post on the forum showing How to install front license plate mount using Frogsfeet: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post851068 |
