Guess I shoulda kept my first graphite crossfire for parts, but the guy I sold it to was SO HaPPY he found my one owner perfect condition coupe , even with 175k miles! He still calls me up!
Now I need a headlight for my sapphire silver coupe, the blinker electrical connection is shot and I dont want to get rearended....

If it is the bulb holder, you can get new ones.
If it is the headlight assembly, you can wire externally from the connector.

 

I have one that is not making good contact between the bulb holder and the headlight assembly. I have checked both circuits independently and the are both functioning. I believe the contacts in the headlight assembly are worn.

 

The contacts do not wear, they get burnt from sparking due to a loose fit.

It is possible to put some solder inside the headlight contacts for the turn signal socket. There is probably a hole there on one of the contacts. You can put a small mirror inside and see the hole. You will need to put a piece of wire in the hole so the solder will harden in place. Then use some light sand paper to shine it up afterwards. You will have to remove the headlight to work on it.

 

What is the purpose of the hole?

 

There is no purpose to the hole in the headlight contact, that is the problem. The hole is from the sparking from the turn signal socket not making good contact. That is why you repair the hole with solder so they can make good contact again.

 

Thanks Ronman, Temporarily, by removing the bulb gasket, we were able to reestablish contact and get it to work...maybe for a day, maybe for a lifetime...
