This car is so unique that it seems people gawk at it. I never would have imagined when I bought it just how many people look at it, stare at it, want to get closer to it and I actually had some jealous loser punch the back quarter panel close to the back window in the most expensive location on the entire car to get a dent out of. Please say a prayer the he gets his, Loser...

So here's my funny story: I'm at intersection with turning lanes so there is stopped traffic at three of the four corners. My windows down, music not to loud and the car is perfectly detailed and shiny as ever. To my right this Escalade is starting to turn in front of me as this lady in her 50's slips half her body out of the back window and in that Long Island/Jersey/New York City combination accent screams..."I WANT YOURRR CAAARRR, HONEYYY...

That was over 2 months ago and I still laugh every time I think about it. I can imagine that she, her husband and the other couple in the car talked about how funny she was the entire way home.

 

i once had a guy in an interstate highway traffic jam ask me if it was a production car or a prototype.

I was in a parking lot picking up some graphics for a show I was going to be in. When I was walking back to my car I noticed an older gentleman looking all over my car, inspecting everything, I casually said, Hey you want to buy it? He said I would if I could afford it but cars like these sell for over 75K. Well I talked to him and told him he could probably get a better deal than that. We ended up talking for about 15 minutes.

 

This really isn't funny, but it sure had me smiling all the way home.
Last night my 20 year old Daughter and I was coming home from a dinner date. (My Wife had a late night at school). Anyway, I stopped at a local gas station that I occasionally go to, and couldn't get the pump to read my card. So I went ahead and pumped the gas first and then went inside to pay.
Behind the counter were two young girls (in their 20's) and the most attractive one took my credit card. She then proceeded to tell me how much she liked my car, and asked if I would mind if she came out and took a closer look. With an ear to ear grin, I said sure, why not? (Much to the dismay of the other 1/2 dozen customers standing in line to pay for their gas). On the way out to the car she told me that she was a "car girl" and she really liked sportscars.
I opened the drivers door so she could take a better look inside, and she really liked the cedar & grey interior. She then told me that her mom was looking for a new car, and that she was going to mention it to her. That's when I told her what great deals they were giving on them and she couldn't believe it. She walked around the whole car and said she just loved it, then thanked me and headed back inside.
When I got back inside the car, my Daughter turns and says, "You just loved that didn't you?" I said well hell ya, who wouldn't?
I only had this happen one other time, and I was in my Viper. But my Wife was with me that time.

 

It was funny "fireamx" I had to laugh out loud... been there done that... still laughin with you. hooah.

 

I can say I've had more than one person mistake my SRT6 for some sort of 'exotic' or 'super' car.

They usually say 'Whaaat?!?!?' when I tell them ... 'nope, it's a Chrysler'.

Funniest reply to that was... 'No, really, who makes it?' (only happened once).

Really funny since I haven't debadged the car.

 

A few months after I bought my Crossfire I took my girlfriend to Annabelle's diner (custom and antiques only in the parking lot). We parked in an industrial lot and walked by all the cool cars on display while the band played 50s tunes.

We got back into the Crossfire and I asked her; "shall we be seen?". She said OK so I rolled down the windows and we drove slowly through the "classics only" parking lot. All you could hear was the spectators saying; "Crossfire".

A couple of months later I was on Pa 22 which is one of those hill country highways with 2 lanes going uphill and one down. We were going uphill approaching a set of S curves when our way was blocked by a group of vans and SUVs as we entered the first curve. So I simply maintained legal speed and slalomed through them as they slowed down for the curves. Got some astonished looks from the folks trying to herd their highway pigs uphill as I sauntered by.
