Default Brake Light

For some reason, the red "Brake" light keeps flickering constantly. It never stays on but it'll go crazy and go on and off like a thousand times in a minute. I tried pulling over and putting up and down my e-break that doesn't seem to help. It's not affecting how the car drives, it's just extremely annoying!!! It's been a week now that this has been going on, hopefully this isn't the end of my electrical system! bah! Anyone ever had a similar problem?

gracias!

This is just a stab in the dark, but the brake pads have wear sensors on them. I'm not sure if these sensors cause the "Brake" light to illuminate on the dash, but if the pads are worn down that may be a possibility?

try disconnecting the battery for a while and see what that gets you. if it still does it then it could be a faulty switch inside the master cylinder

could also be a loose or dirty connection anywhere in the wiring for the system(s) that activate the brake light. Happened to me with the oil level sensor. Dirty connector - it was corroding, and they cleaned it up and POOF! better.

Edit.

Sounds like an intermittent switch/ground.

Maybe. Hold it up to your computer monitor so I can get a better look!
