Default Good Day ---- Bad Day

Good Day ....I saw my first and second "wild" Xfires today. Wild as in not during one of our fabulous West Coast Style Hook-Ups.
1. A nice Graphite Xfire in the San Diego area ( Miramar)
2. A slightly dirty Black one closer to home at the I10/I15 interchange.

Bad day.....my Blaze got hit with truck tire debris and is now missing the right side grille insert below the bumper and has a few light scrape marks in her shiny red dress....that's after a lot of work with my detail products :-(

Somebody has got to do something about all these treads flying around everywhere....it's a safety hazzard of highest proportions.....a lesser man might go nuts and run amok :-)

Default Don't Feel Bad

Sunny, I had a production meeting in Venice Beach yesterday and the editor for the show that I'm doing has a Porsche 933 Turbo... So after the meeting we were looking at my X-Fire and I turned the fog lamps on (it was 10pm by then) and noticed the front right side of the car smoking...

Then noticed that the fog lamp on that side was not projecting through the lens...

To make a long story short... The damn bulb had popped out of the holder and settled on the chin spoiler then burnt through the plastic... (thus the smoke)

Melted nearly the whole passenger front of the chin spoiler...

BIG *** MELT UNDER THE FRONT SPOILER

:? Sunny & Derek (HDDP) -

Double Bummer!!

It hurts....hurts....hurts. We know because we had to have our car door painted from "freeway stuff". It doesn't matter how our cars get a "boo boo" it hurts.

Good Luck to both of you on the repairs.

Thanks Connie .....I'll give Blaze a hug from you :-) I know that'll make her feel better.

Outch Derek...compared to you I've gotten away with hardly anything...a few more polishing sessions and a new grille piece and my baby should be back in all her glory. Good luck with yours as well.

Sunny... I had the same exact thing happen last month.

HDDP... bummer!!!

$855.41 for a new bumper and lower grill plate. I have $100 deductible so I had a new one put on.

On the bright side I now have a damaged bumper and a tire that I had plugged last Jan sitting in my garage. I think I'll start collecting XF parts and build a second car even if it will have a few dings here and there. Ha ha ha...:wink::wink:

It is official, red crossfires are cursed.

It was 1 1/2 months ago that i hit a tire on the highway. I swerved but still caught it with the driver's side of the car. Here's what it did to mine:

Knocked the driver's side lower grill loose (just popped it back in)
Knocked the temperature sensor out of the driver's side lower grill (just popped it back in its hole)
Knocked out the driver's side turn signal (I have no idea how this happened but it just popped back in)
Broke one of the three mounting tabs for the driver's side fog light (removed the fog light, super glued the tab back to the housing, reinstalled fog light, and is good as new)
Ripped out the front half of the driver's side wheel well liner ($38 at dealer)
Gouged the paint/bumper beneath the lower crease just left of the fog light (not noticeable unless you're looking for it).
Put two scratches on the bottom of the side skirt beneath the driver's door (not noticeable unless you get down on your knees and look under the car)

Well ...what is the saying....shared pain half the pain..;-)
The paint scuffs are all polished out now...so that's ok...tomorrow I'll stop by my dealer and see about getting the grille insert. :-)

Thanks guys for making me feel a little better

Me too..I gouge to lower part of my bumper from a parking curb and gashed my side mirror about an inch long while I was backing out...it hit my Expedition ops:

Maybe it'll go away if I'll buff the paint with Zaino wax No. 5
