Default Shift **** problem

Has any one else experienced problems with their shift ****? I have the 6spd and every time i shift the **** has play as though its loose. i tried twisting it to see if it needed tightening but it wouldn't budge. any solutions?

It does not twist off, and you will only make the problem worse. Have a dealer inspect it. It is just a minor adjustment. There have been some situations where the shifter **** comes off while putting the car into reverse. A TSB calls for pulling up on the **** hard to see if it comes off. If it does, there are procedures for fixing it.

Do you have the TSB info? Nothing has been added to TSB forums... also there is at least one TSB there that hasn't been made a sticky.... thanks.

Default pop off

hey mine actually did pop right off. i was going for reverse, didnt pull any harder than normal, and it came right off. the **** the rubber sleeve and all. there was no warning though, no play prior to the incident. i put it back on and tried reverse again and again but nothing. i took it in and they replaced the whole packager anyway. just thought id let you know to have it checked while warranty applies.

Well just to add on, i just took mine in today and mine shifts fine. The only problem that i felt was weird was the **** itself feels like you can move it a small bit back and forth. they looked at it today and told me thats normal. the **** sits on a pivot ball and that allows the **** to move a small bit. is this true or should i take it back?

so when i'm shifting, the **** moves slightly back and forth. not to much but enough to where it has a feeling like its loose? are these ***** twisted on? held by a retainer...manual shift ***** by the way. i know a normal **** is screwed on and i have tried twisting this one and no response as though it wants to tighten up.
