Default Dangling string from top.

It's been 2 years and I still can't figure out where these damn strings are supposed to attach to. I know they're suppose to support the front end of the top after unlatching, but what do they connect to?

If memory serves, they attach to 2 screws in the front header.
They are just parachute cord attached on the rear end to 2 coil springs.
You can remove all the torx screws and peel the front of the top back to see where.
Yours look broken.

That seems excessive but I'll year into it tomorrow. Thanks for the insight.
