Default Best S/C pulley.

There are so many options. I plan to just do three mods to the car. I've narrowed it down to the n/w dual intake ,pulley and tune. Now i need some input on what pulley to get? Ive seen some goods times from
several pulleys. Which onE consistently delivers the most power/best ET's?Thanks.

Well just as a point of fact, there is only one aftermarket S/C pulley and it is made by Code3. TVT has been testing machining down the stock S/C pulley, but not sure about the full results yet.

As for your other choices you have the Eurocharged 185mm Crank pulley. Eurocharged also makes a 178mm crank pulley and so does ASP.

This is an ongoing debate that has been discussed ad nauseum, just search for it and read the many many threads on the topics.

Some people swear the ASP is the besty pulley and some people swear the Eurocharged 185mm pulley is the best.

I'm in the latter group, I feel the Eurocharged 185mm pulley is the best pulley for the money and provides the opportunity for the best power and ETs as long as it is accompanied by the correct supporting modifications.

...good luck with your modifications...

P.S. I would say go with the Eurocharged/LET tune for the best results with whatever pulley you choose.

178mm Crank and 69mm SC. I say which ever pulley you can find at a better price is teh one to get. They are basically the same. We sell both ASP and Eurocharged pulleys and have had an equal number of good and bad from both crowds. The Eurocharged is lighter and an all new design, but the install is more of a PITA. The ASP is built off a stock unit and allows you to keep that "stealth" look to the car.

As for the SC pulley, I prefer machining down the stock pulley for its cost (although the C3 pulley has come down a lot) and OEM reliability. Our machine shop does our SC pulleys for 375.00 and a new C3 pulley I believe is down to 450.00 when they were near 700.00.

The easiest to bolt on and go without needing tons of supporting mods are the 178mm or the smaller SC puley. It all depends on how deep you want to go with this.

Yes, I'm biased. I'll admit it.

My personal feeling on this is the price has come down because of the poor customer service. I've heard nothing but unpleasant things about the support...

I would say whatever you choose, go with a crank pulley or have TVT machine down your stock S/C pulley.

EDIT: 2000th post...damn I'm on here too much.

Isn't the 181mm crank pulley still available?

For the OP, the C3 SC pulley is the smallest that I am aware of, and ABOUT equals the 178mm crank pulley. Finding one may be a little harder and as mentioned, many have had some issues with customer service.

Crank pulleys are not too bad to put on (The crank bolt is the biggest PITA) and they make the best power. They also spin EVERYTHING faster, not just the SC. Bearings running faster will wear out sooner. I have a LET 181mm and VERY happy with it.

Our car that made 360RWHP on a Dynapack, about 400RWHP on a dynojet, had this done along with the 178mm pulley.

I have a 181 pulley if anyone wants to buy it. I bought the 181 kit, and upgraded to the 185 so I still have the 181 left over. Not sure what to ask for it? Honestly, if I didn't have the ECU tuned for the 185, I would still run the 181 because I like it better.

Why do you like the 181 better?

Well I purchased before doing my due diligence on here. After joining and reading up on the pullies, I think the 185 pulley spins the supercharger too close to the red zone for me. There is a noticeable improvement in mid-range with the 185, BUT when you're wide-open there's a lot more heat soak than the 181 which I believe diminishes any top-end gains the 185 has over the 181. In any race you would be over 5000rpm so... what I'm trying to say is the 181 felt stronger on the top-end to me. I'm not trying to get off topic here, just giving you my opinion on my experiences. Hope this all makes sense!

LET made the 181mm and 185mm. LET dosent do hardware now and I expect that vendors figure that 178mm and 185mm are a good option for performance differences.

Eurocharged purchased all the rights to any hardware developed by LET including the pulley that were a full custom design as well as the Heat Exchanger.

After they purchased this, Eurocharged made a decision that three different sized aftermarket pulleys competing in the same market segment was not warranted and scaled it back to just the 178mm and 185mm crank pullies. They did this with the thought that there are two different audiences they are drawing from, those who want just some more power and those who want as much power as possible... This is the reasoning behind the 181mm no longer be offered in the Eurocharged product line.

Even though it is no longer offered in the product line Eurocharged still provides 100% technical support for 181mm pullies that have been purchased.
