Official N/A Gains Thread
Re: Official N/A Gains Thread
We've put around 10 stock cars on a race calibrated dyno in 2013 and 2014. They were all around 200 HP (196 - 204).
We also had some cars with slight mods. Best one was 206 HP.
Exhaust mods in general had a little less max. power.
I know a N/A car that has real 250 HP at the rear wheels. But that had very cost intensive modifications. Ported heads, other camshafts, 200 cell cats, complete different air intake system, new injectors and so on and was optimized on the dyno.
Air filters, ECU tunes, sport exhausts are just a waste of time and money. If you get 10 hp out iof that stuff your'e lucky.
My car stays stock, because i don't care if i have 10-20 hp more or not.
If you want more hp, just bay a SRT6.

An SRT-6 is not a consideration, I wouldn't never trade the manual 'box for the extra BHP.
p.s.those 10 cars you put on the Dyno - did you remove fuses 17 & 18 or do anything else to disable the ESP?

Re: Official N/A Gains Thread
want to out perform others vehicles it seem to be going auto...
out of the 4 vehicles at my house only 1 is auto and I am sad to say it takes no skill to beat a cts-v in my auto. Proud rowing is for hippies and tree huggers. (a little jab at Mark (pizzaguy) because he loves his stick)
Oh, and I had my high mileage 3.2L with intake, Eurocharged tune, exhaust, ud pulleys, 74mm throttle body, on the dyno and it was a bit less than Gary's (Valk) crossfire and he had a tune and intake if I recall. I think he has the chart somewhere on here.
They do not dyno well. keep expectations low.
