Others went on the Clarksville driving tour and have not yet returned to the hotel.

It is hot here but regardless we are all having a good time hanging out together and tonight many of us will attend a local baseball game where we have the party deck reserved for dinner and watching the game.
Prior to the start of the game we will be driving our Crossfires around the outer edge of the baseball field and announced to all the fans in attendance.

Roberta & I had a really great time at this event. We passed on the ball game Tuesday evening and track activities on Wednesday evening. Just too blame hot!!!

The road trips thru the rolling hills of MO were great and the stops at local wineries were fantastic. We especially liked the Stone Hill Winery in Herman, MO. Being originally from KCMO, these drives & stops brought back alot of memories for Roberta & me.

Thanks to all that arranged this Mega GTG. We're headed home to SC this morning; gotta be back to work this coming weekend. For those starting treks back home, drive safe & enjoy the moment.

One of the best things, we didn't lose anybody...for more than 10 mins and I only know of one ticket that was issued.

Thanks again to the Gateway Crossfire members who gave up their valuable time and money to put on such a spectacular event. We loved meeting all of the people behind the forum names, and we had so many laughs that my sides still hurt. Those who didn't make the trip to St. Louis missed a great time. Hats off to everyone who attended!

Track night was totally awesome, thanks Franc. I didn't even think about how hot it was until it was over! Thanks to Franc for lunch at his place as well. Great to see old friends and some new faces. James

Got home uneventful, had lunch, found out my painter hadn't done a *&^%$ thing to the bumper of the blue coupe, my trailer wasn't worked on at work, nothing done at home...welcome home Doc...not one headache at the CAA, but get home and I have one now...LOL For those who didn't make it, the Gateway Group did a fantastic job with this get together even though the weather was HOT to say the least. It didn't detour them a bit, and I met some very very nice people and made new friends there. I heard there was 1 citation issued, which was too bad, hopefully he will beat that one, and I know of another citation issued to "SOMEONE" on the way home. NOT ME...I was stopped 30 minutes into leaving for the CAA, got a warning of course....lol......you all missed a good time....rumor has it I got my rear end spanked by two good lookin' women sharing a gray XF, then again, I liked to be spanked and look at women's rearends...it was a great time, did I mention that?????

All I can say to that concept is "Carry On Son! Carry On."

Glad you had fun.

Absolutely GREAT time. Wonderful to put faces and voices to forum names.

Everyone with their families and kids made me really miss my new granddaughter, so I am re-routing and heading home via Northern California.

I just stopped in Lincoln, Nebraska on the way and decided to get some chow at King Kong Burger (Giant King Kong on the roof). The owner saw me drive up and came out to check the little beastie out. He asked a lot of questions and I was more than happy to supply the answers. Here is the best one...."so how much did the SRT6 cost when they were new?" I said "around $48K", his answer "Is that all?" Gotta love it!

BTW if you are ever in Lincoln order the Gyro at the place. The absolute best I have ever had.

We'll try to add it up, the problem was not everybody did the activities outside of racing and we had some show up that were not expected. Estimate right now is between 40-50.

We're finally starting to rest so it may be a bit before I can narrow it down.

It was definitely a great event put together by a great group of people! Being able to take the car on the track during the parade laps was a nice experience. Plus, no one can really tell from the pictures exactly how fast I was going anyway
And I guess we finally know which color is best......I didn't know they made that many RED Crossfires.
Looks like one person in our group will be visiting St Louis again in August....hope everything works out OK for Bob.
Thanks again to everyone who made this a very successful event.
Terry

Well it's been a fantastic week in St.Louis.
Yes it was very hot but that in no way stopped us from having a great time together.
I met many new faces and saw old friends as well.
These guys really pulled off a excellent GTG.
The GCG did an amazing job keeping everyone on schedule and on track getting to all the places on the agenda at their scheduled times.
My sincerest thanks to all who made this GTG possible.

I got home around 3:00 today and spent hours going through hundreds of pics
and putting them into order for a good photo presentation for you all.
Please click on "full screen" at the lower right corner of each of the following slideshow links ...........

Monday
I arrived and just hung out at Harrah's meeting others as they arrived.

Tuesday
Several of us went to Franc Rauschers shop and had a BBQ and washed our Crossfires.

Tuesday Night
We all went to see the Rascals Baseball game and got to drive our Crossfires in a parade around the field prior to the start of the game.

Wednesday
Several of us went on the Hermann Tour which took us to the "Stone Hill Winery" and "Daniel Boone's Home"

Wednesday night
A lot of us went to the Gateway International Raceway for tons of fun out on the track.
Speeds often reached in excess of 100mph on the street course which used half of the oval track to really get to some high speeds !!
CICCI also sponsored a car show and three awards were given at the farewell dinner on Thursday night

Thursday
A much cooler day to go on a downtown tour in St.Louis.
We went and toured the Budweiser Brewery and afterwords got to drink some samples of beer in the hospitality bar.
Then had lunch at the Spaghetti Factory.
After lunch we went to the grounds of the Gateway Arch and went up to the top for a great view of St.Louis.

Thursday night
The GTG came to a close with a really nice Farewell Dinner where we all went to a banquet hall in St.Charles, Mo for dinner and a raffle to raise money for the children's hospital in St.Louis.
We also announced the winners of the CICCI car show and presented the awards to the winners.

Jenny and I also had 15 1/2 hours on the road. Pulled into the driveway safely around 10:30 pm. Great CAA, gotta feel sorry for anyone who didn't make it. We did take a short break at a Jeep dealer in Dublin, Ohio. He had about 60 2011 Grand Cherokee's. They sure look nice but they are much larger than I was expecting.

Hello from OKC (actually Yukon, but no one knows where that is) DC XFire and I made it home safe and some what sound .
All I can say is WOW!!!!!!
We had such a GREAT time. Meeting new friends and seeing old friends, is always a great time, but to be able to do so at such an event is a ONCE in a life time opportunity. We had SO much fun, the events were great, beautiful, wonderful, amazing.....and eventful. I even had one of the most picturesque settings to ask my wife (DCXFire) of thirty five years (yes, 35) if she would marry me again. BTW, she said yes.
To those who missed this, YOU BLEW IT BIG TIME !!!!
A special thanks to Mrs Erzer, you help to pull a special just for me.
To the Gateway Crossfire Group, YOU ROCK!!!!
You ALL did such a terrific job on the CAA. Many, many Kudos to you.
Franc, again, Thank You, for the track experience. What a way to feel, see, hear, and drive our Crossfires the way they should.
See you all in 2012 at CAA 2

We made it home fine, after a stop in Springfield to visit the Lincoln Library and Museum (something Adriana wanted to do). We first stopped at McDonald's for coffee and breakfast sandwich. Interesting comment from a guy there. He asked me if we were just on I-55. I told him yes. He said to me; I saw you on I-55 and loved your car. Interesting he would have noticed. He proceeded to ask questions about the car. Well you all know that routine.

My wife and I had a great time. I was surprised she enjoyed it so much. She's not a car person. But she loved all of you. One thing she noticed is that we are all equally nuts, and have the same level of OCD when it comes to our cars. Hopefully she understands me my obsession better now .

I want to thank the group that organized this event again. You guys did a awesome job, and I just can't thank you enough.

It was nice seeing you all, and meeting the folks I had not had the pleasure of meet before.

It was a blast.....
