Ran the 1/2 mile yesterday - Clayton, GA - WannaGoFast
I arrived thinking the CL would hit mid 155's. However, after seeing a few GTR's, Corvettes, and CTS-V's running in the 140's, I knew the DA was horrific. I calculated it to be 5,280' when I ran my fastest of two runs.
Anyway, I ran 150 and 149. By the way, there was no power to run the box fans to cool the engine, so the air temps were pretty high. I wasn't about to bother with it though, as I wanted to hang out with family and friends. If I run next year, I'll have a working Killer Chiller so I won't have to bother with ice or fans and still have great air temps.
I ran 149 mph against a Weistec supercharged E55 which was running a 50 shot. I was on street tires with MS109 and stock air boxes (no filters). I took the ET win (on street tires), but he trapped 3 MPH more.
Here's my 150 mph run against a supercharged Mustang. On this run I was using a DIY CAI setup without filters.
Here's Steve's 159 run.

Great news! Congratulations! I was waiting for you to post. 150 is where I thought you'd run originally. Doing it in Denver DA .... great mph. I saw the post on 6 pee'd online by Steve. John posting lots of pictures on Facebook too. I'm sure, positive, you shocked the socks off lots of participants.

Big thanks to Steve for getting Prestige Auto to let my daughter Melissa sit in the Hefner Lambo. Below is a very happy kid!

Yes, it was a great way to spend the weekend. I asked Chris to attend a few months ago, and I was happy he obliged. We all stayed at the same motel and had some great fun. Maybe more forum members will consider flying in next year if dirving is out of the question.

Anthony, good runs there, one thing about the killer chiller,, at that speed and any thing over 120 for 10 to 20 seconds the heated air goes by so fast that it does not have time to cool, I was out a while back ran 150 ,, had to hold about 130 for about 20 seconds. The Iat;s went to the 120;s then pushed it to 150 the Iat went above the 170's, as i slowed to around to the 80mph range the Iat;s dropped to the 70's.
what i am saying is, for road racing,or the 1/2 run you still need ice and the IAT's will still go up. maybe not as much. for 1/4 mile runs, at 133 mph my iat start at around 65. outside temp 97, at the end of the 1/4 are around 120. ( remember the ac is off at wot.) Ice would help at this time. jim

It was definitely a fantastic weekend. Sadly no Crossfires down there this year... they always drew a lot of attention. Definitely felt weird to not have anything to run, but at the same time it was VERY relaxing to know I didn't have to worry about breaking anything.
Anthony's daughter was hilarious the whole time... she kept us laughing. It was a pleasure getting to meet Chris, he's a super nice guy and a true asset to the forum. Props to Anthony's wife for the videos above... she has the zoom figured out nicely. I took videos as well, but I'm still learning how to zoom with the Samsung S5... it's tricky.
Saturday was HOT and very humid as well. Probably the worst D/A out of the three years I've been.
I plan on coming back in 2014 with something noisy and fast... still looking at options but I'm 80% sure it will be a ~2009 SLK55.
Anthony's speed was excellent, there was a stock SL65 AMG putting up consistent 142/143's... So, +7 MPH is great for the lead sled
Cheers,

Here's two more videos of my races John took at the event. The first one is me running the Mustang Cobra and the other is of Craig and I launching (more like spinning). On that run I had to stay toward the center of the runway to keep from hitting a bad dip.

Your car looks very much at home at speed, looks great.
Thanks for sharing the photos and videos, since I missed the Chicago one this year and it won't be back, I need John's help in contacting Blake to get him to start an Indianapolis run. I know of a few fields that may take us...
