Rim sizes that will work
Rim sizes that will work
I ran into an issue where i'll be replacing all the rims on my crossfire. I currently have 20in Dakar zealous rims on front and back but I wasn't the original installer. Im assuming the front rim is an 20x8.5 and rear being an 20x10 although i'm unsure. Was wondering what size rims would actually work. I see alot of sites saying their rim and tire package will work but the sizes aren't staggard or just 20x8.5 all around. Would 20x8.5 work all the way around? Just doesn't seem right to me from what I have been seeing so why not ask people better suited to answer to make sure. Thanks for the help.
Re: Rim sizes that will work
20x8.5 can work if the offsets are right, but staggered is the way to go. If the packages you've seen are 4 of the same spec wheels (as opposed to F-20x8.5 et 35 ; R-20x8.5 et20) then it won't be a good fit. The rear would would look really week with the same offset as the front.

you could push out the rim but the look you really want is the wide tires peaking out from the rear... you have a RWD car, you should flaunt it... otherwise you'll be wasting your platform and looking like the FWD VW's that have a flush look but skinny tires...

I say that because I may very well stay with the 18's and put spacers on to push them out and then lower the car a bit to make it look more cosmetically appealing.
By the way, the 18's I used were the newer Cooper Zeon and they performed very well the whole time there. Of course I'll have to get the rims to all look the same color pattern.
