Default Tire Size Help

Hello everyone,

I've read through the 18" all around threads but I desperately need one question answered: how important is keeping the rear tire .9" larger? How much play do I have?

I want to put a 245 40 18 on the rear and a 235 35 18 on the front.

245/40/18 has a diameter of: 25.7" (OEM is 26")
235/35/18 has a diameter of: 24.4" (OEM is 25.1")

Will this work (not mess with ABS or traction control), or am I too far off?

Anthony

Thanks, but I did use that tool. It doesn't answer the question of whether the tractional control in our cars is going to go nuts from having a difference in the diameter of the front and rear tires by more or less than .9".

Ok, sorry!

That would be a radial difference of .150" rear and ..350" front.

I'm not sure if the difference (deviation from OEM) beween front and rear would cause problems for traction control or ABS.

Oh that lil thing says I'm 1% faster cause I moved the rears from 255's to 245/35/19's. I knew I was born with an intrensic knowledge of speed!!!! I even do it on accident.

Thanks anyway, I've been pouring over search results in the forum and I was surprised that I couldn't find anything addressing this. Usually if you sift through results long enough the answer is in there somewhere...

If it helps any I've seen lots of combination of tire & wheel sizes posted here and never seen someone say they were having problems with the ABS or TC because of it.
