Yes this is my old thread but would like to know if anyone has used Dexron 3 transmission fluid, at oil change, to clean engine components especially ticking lifter? I watched a video where mechanic added it to his Dodge Hemi at oil change. The truck had 300k miles and lifters were really noisy. he drove the truck for 200 miles and updated the video to show the difference between before and after results. The engine was really quite! My '06 has 98K and has a worrisome tick ever since I bought it in 2021. I added, when I bought the car, 1/2 quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to the engine and ticking went away for some time. Couple days ago I did another oil change. I don't believe it would damage anything and wondering if this was worth a try. If interested the link is here to view the video.
