I couldn't get into the trunk so I had to remove the plate lights to access the latches. It wasn't the secondary trunk lock like I thought. The handle lost all resistance. I'm guessing there's no pressure from central locking? wild guess. I don't know.
Also the keyfob doesn't work. new batteries. lights flash on the car, so its getting the signal. and I hear some action in the doors and trunk just no result. Maybe its all related to central locking!?
I'll be back on it soon. I'm going to get some beignets

Welcome to the family!
I think you're right about the CLP. Check to see if there's any water damage or corrosion. If yours is damaged they're available on e bay or online salvage yards. Make sure to get about 18 inches of wiring harness with it. This way you can splice it into the car's wiring harness. Water wicks up the wires and will cause problems later.
Let us know what happens. Good luck!
