All the noise, I thought I heard from the rear, was coming from "very" worn out front shocks, ball joints and upper control arms. Now that I've replaced all those items I'll move on to the rear shocks. Gonna be a pain to remove the rear hatch panels to get at the top nuts securing the shock at their top. I'll bet they have never been replaced before judging on how bad the front shocks were. Already have the KYB shocks and gotta find that ever present rubber on metal squeak that hear when I get in and out of the car!
Side note; New hood pins and fender liners should arrive tomorrow as well. Found my stash of woven fiberglass to be used for repairing the big hole in the hatch floor.
I can't wait to see what the hood pins look like when finished!
