Re: My Journey with my 2006 Roadster "Svengoolie"
Engine Splash Shields replacement.
PART 2 of 2 (10 picture restriction per post) February 10 - March 3, 2026. (working on other things as well).
Svengoolie says "Shield up!" I guess he thinks he's on Star Trek or something!
I noticed the belly pan or under engine cover was sagging in the middle. When I removed the cover I noticed that the left side clip was broken off of the splash shield and the right side clip was worn out.
I decided to replace them. It's not as easy as you would think and the best advice is to remove the bolts holding the front anti-sway bar up. These bolts require a 16mm socket and a 13mm socket and are located in the middle of the bar, just above the bushings. After they are removed the bar can be lowered and it will make it easier to replace the shields.
This is how I do the work on my own car. I'm not a professional mechanic. The pictures and descriptions are for reference only. Any work that you do on your car is your responsibility.
