Sasha, my adopted granddaughter has been in the Navy almost four years. (My son retired as Chief after 23 years in the Navy in 2023.)
Anyway, Sasha managed to get on the John P Murtha for this photo last week, as she was in port when it came in. Don't be a dope like me and ask what the big deal is, look at what is behind her!

Captain Erik Kenny served as the vessel's commanding officer during this mission. It carried MH-60S Seahawk helicopters from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23.
