My caution would be this: Module failures are really rare. Iv'e fixed, well, I really don't know how many tops I have fixed -not ONE was due to a bad module. I am NOT saying they do not fail, I am saying that module failures are really, really rare.

MOST people chasing a top issue (and in fact most electronics issues) make things way too hard. I had to learn this in 1982 on my first job as an electronics tech because I was doing it as well. MOST electronic issues are essentially very simple failures, but not simple to diagnose.
