I think they are definitely collectors items. The fact that its a mercedes on the inside, and chrysler on the outside makes it not only rare, but as it is manufactured by Karmann, of karmann-gia fame, it has the bavarian bloodline making it in my opinion a collectors item. Chrysler may have a bad name for younger folks, the k car era and so forth, but before that chrysler was one of the finest designers in america, see the chrysler building in ny as an example. So for me this combination of bloodlines makes the crossfire collectable.
