All of the TT class cars run at the same time. That's what's so fun about the TT division, I'm on the track with 600 hp cars that weigh 2,500 lbs and turning lap times that are 20 seconds faster than mine and lapping me three or four times in an event. The difficult thing about running TT is that you are always running the race in front of you and the race behind you, so you don't **** block the faster cars.
In the morning we do one practice session (20 mins) which is also a qualifying session for grid position. Then we run three (20 minute) events during the rest of the day and each car has a transponder that times each lap. Usually the higher HP cars (TTU, TTR, TTA, TTB, TTC) have faster lap times, so they will grid ahead of me. But often I will have qualifying times that are faster than the upper class cars and end-up gridding ahead of them.
Here's how it breaks down: TTU, TTR, TTA, TTB, TTC, TTD, TTE, TTF.
Each car is classed based on many variables. The base (stock) Crossfire is classed in TTE and the (stock) SRT6 is classed in TTB. Then, each performance modification you add to the car is assigned points which moves you up toward the next class. You are allowed 39 modification points before you are bumped to the next higher class. Since I have so many mods. on my car I am classed in TTD with 36 additional modification points.
I hop this helps you understand why you will see cars passing me in the videos, but I am still winning (2nd) in my class...
I think I have a photo of the grid from last weekend which may give you a visual idea...
