D/C is really going to have to do something about parts availability. Tires, wheels, engine components, sheet metal, etc. have to be there if they want the original owners of this flagship vehicle to continue to spread the word!
In my business, I do what it takes to make it right, if there is a legitimate customer complaint. D/C has to do that as well. There have been far too many complaints about this on this forum (mine included), for it to get ignored. Did M/B have this problem with the SLK? I doubt it....
And I am sorry, but the parts availability at a premium price (posted in another thread) sounds like extorsion to me.
My real problem with this is - if there are no parts available, then how can they continue to build new cars?
Don't get me wrong. I think this is a great car, and I am glad I bought mine. But part of having a great car is the feeling of good, quick, and reasonably priced support when there is a problem!
OK M/B & D/C - find or make some parts, ship them out, and get these cars back on the road!!!
