The dealer should give you a sensor out of a stock unit!! We had a new Pacifica with a trans problem and the trans was on backorder. The General manager had a tech pull a trans out of stock unit to make the customer happy.

I think a little RATIONAL complaining to the dealership management, especially explaining how their inability to fix your BRAND NEW CAR is making you very down on EVER buying another product from them, would likely get you a MAF out of a car on the lot.

Gsopc.............. different problem...

Mine truly was the Mass Air Flow sensor.. finally got it back today.....

Not much of a 'modern' car mechanic, though I used to tear em down back when they were simpler.... and as the name probably indicates to those that do know... (and more for those that dont, like me)... the air flow sensor (Putting this in 'old' terms...so PLEASE dont 'correct' me)...
senses how much air is being fed.... particularly in relation to the air/fuel mixture.... and makes adjustments accordingly. When the air flow sensor is bad, and gives a bad reading, what is happening then is that the car is being fed too much fuel.. .thus the shuddering, and eventually flooding of the engine.

AFTER the team had replaced the sensor and started it up again, it still would not stay running.... they ended up having to replace all 12 spark plugs... and changing the oil, as there was fuel in the oil.....

now this information, compounded with previous issues, brings me to 'today'.... as of yesterday actually, I now 'qualify' for my state's lemon laws... more than 30 days in the shop in first year of ownership.

It's been over that.. in only 3 months of ownership !

What to do.. what to do
Would be much easier if I didnt truly enjoy the car so much, but the reason I like to keep myself and my wife in new cars is because I dont enjoy the hassle and worrying about maintaining, fixing, repairing, replacing, etc etc etc....

I am assuming they did not charge you for the oil change, right?

I'm not sure of how your lemon law works, probably based on trade in value, but if It's replacement value and a one for one swap with little out of pocket cash, go for it.

Not familiar enough with lemon laws, but if it were me I'd be asking for either a) replace the car or b) refund.
