Default Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration

My dealer, Rancho Chrysler, determined that my supercharger clutch is bad and so the whole supercharger assembly will need replacement (the clutch is not a separate assembly). Initially the acceleration problem mimicked the symptoms of a failing aux water pump but last Sunday I lost all boost regardless of coolant temp. The dealer confirmed a faulty clutch by powering the clutch directly and still not having it engage.

Another problem I have is that for the last 2 or 3 times I've fueled up, I could only dribble fuel into the gas tank else back pressure would shut the fuel pump off. I figured there was a clogged vent line or stuck valve in the tank system and thought it would be a simple repair. Oh was I wrong! The dealer is also going to replace the complete fuel tank assembly because again, the system does not have individual components capable of being replaced.

The BAS/ESP light coming on is caused by a bad wheel sensor to that will also be replaced.

The dealer will also replace the door seals to correct the excessive wind noise I have. All parts are on order and should be in midweek. My service manager, Mike Lewis, wants to me to bring my car back the following Monday so they have all week to work on it. This also allows me to burn as much gas as possible prior to the tank being pulled.

Though I'm not happy with the problems with my car, I'm very pleased with the excellent warranty coverage provided by Rancho Chrysler. Whatever the problem is Rancho will do whatever is necessary to fix it and keep the customer satisfied. For those of you considering buying a new Chrysler and are anywhere near San Diego, I strongly urge you to buy at Rancho Chrysler.
