If you want to debadge fine...try hiding the fact that your embarrassed to be driving a chrysler. But putting some other badge on there and trying to pose it as something greater than a 25k car is rice. End of story.
In some cases I am for debadging as it makes the car come out cleaner. But never because I am trying to hide what it is. I would rather been known as driving a Chrysler than to be known as a poser.
i debadge 'all' of my cars (as you know) including my prior M3... many would love to have an M3 but... i know what i'm driving and that's all that matters...
i prefer the simplified clean look as you stated. as for covering up the chrysler - cheesy dated '80s gold - emblem with the same name as the car 'crossfire'...
i see nothing wrong with that... just a more attractive badging imo... but if one put m/b badges in place of the chrysler badge i could indeed see ones point...
