It seems to me that the dealer is the rental agent, and as such should have given you the option for the added coverage. I insist this is why they have a formal form that's part of the contract where the customer has the option to elect or reject the added insurance. I tell you, they always make it a point to sell it to you, and if not they want you to initial that you are taking the risk by rejecting the added coverage.
