I removed the cup holder in my '04 and replaced it with the storage bin while the car was in storage this winter. Since I didn't use the cup holder the bin should be a plus. When we traveled we take along a couple of stainless steel travel cups that seal and when they are empty we store them behind the seats. However you do have to hold them while they are full so we only use them for morning coffee.
